A BIT OF HISTORY
Truly an event like no other, the Festival of Flakes is back for it's 7th year since inception back in 2016. This weekend of outdoor racing and fun is consistently one of the biggest winter fat bike events in the United States and the SnoFatShu was the first winter duathlon of it's kind.
Winona Forest Recreation Association (WFRA) is a non-profit organization that maintains and grooms the trails throughout the Forest's 10,000 acres on the Tug Hill Plateau near Mannsville, NY. These trails offer winter enthusiasts and families an unparalleled opportunity to compete in a weekend of fat biking and snowshoe running. With an experienced crew of grooming volunteers maintaining the trails multiple times per week, using a diverse arsenal of equipment, participants are guaranteed to want to come back year after year for the Festival of Flakes.
